9/11 also happens to be my godsons birthday and my parents wedding anniversary. So every year, while I consider the pain and sadness thousands are reminded of, I also get to forget that for a while and celebrate these two important family events.
The weekends happiness - for me, balanced out the sadness others elsewhere in the world were feeling. I started the weekend witnessing a couple get married and declare their love for each other and then finished the weekend celebrating the 40 year union that is my parents marriage.
The contrast of the events reminds me of the intro in the movie "Love Actually"
